Juan Tzerem Kunchikuy was born in the small village known as Cambantsa, located in the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin. He is proudly of Ecuadorian and of native indigenous Shiwiar descendant. He speaks Spanish, English, Quechua, Shuar, and Shiwiar. Since his early 20s Juan has dedicated his life to ecotourism and the conservation of the Ecuadorian Rainforest as well as his culture. He has worked on countless projects both in the private and public sector, nationally and internationally. Since 2010 he works as a Certified Naturalist Guide in the Amazon Rain Forest for the Anakonda and Manatee Amazon cruises. Juan K. wishes that everyone who visits the Ecuadorian Amazon enjoys it majesty, and then becomes an Amazon ambassador to they can share their experience with the entire world. He is not only an experienced Naturalist Guide, he is also happily married and has a son. When he is not adventuring in the Rainforest, he and his family live in the city of Puyo in the Province of Napo. We know that Juan will remain as part of our team aboard the Anakonda and the Manatee Amazon cruises for many years to come, as his commitment to the destination and ecotourism is very spirited.
